Although Pipedrive doesn’t have any baked-in invalid email detection, there is a fairly simple workaround that suits 99% of cases.

Making sure all the email addresses you have for your customers are correct can be a pain. Syncing contacts from Pipedrive to Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign or Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) and having the marketing tool reject emails can be annoying, to say the least.

Although Pipedrive doesn’t have any baked-in invalid email detection, there is a fairly simple workaround that suits 99% of cases. 

Here, I’ll show you how to quickly create a Pipedrive filter that will clean out your invalid email addresses.

Step 1: Create a people filter that looks for ANY of the following conditions:

  • Person, email, is empty

  • Person, email, contains, ‘

  • Person, email, contains, ?

  • Person, email, contains, !

  • Person, email, contains, ,

  • Person, email, contains, /

  • Person, email, contains, [insert any other symbol]

Please note that the above symbols are just an example of some common characters that are accidentally added to emails. You might want to add other symbols for a more thorough check.

Step 2: And, for extra peace of mind, have a last look through the list and see if you spot any other invalid email address.
