This automation applies to Pipedrive but a similar effect can be achieved with other CRMs.
Use case
As a sales rep I want to know when a lead is opening/clicking marketing campaigns and with Outfunnel's app connector it's possible to achieve just that.
Outfunnel creates a "Newsletter Open" / "Newsletter Clicked" activity once the engagement occurs and it's possible to set up a Pipedrive workflow automation to automatically notify the rep.
Solution (5 min)
Head to Pipedrive automations and set up a new automation with the following parameters:
1. Triggered by and trigger
We recommend choosing "triggered by any user" as that way the automation will run regardless of who does the update.
The trigger starts the automation and in this case it's "Activity created".
2a. Instant condition
We'd only want it to trigger when:
The activity type is Newsletter Open / Newsletter Clicked
2b. (Optional) Add a condition to get notified about dormant leads only
For this we'd have to:
Add "Update person fields" action and add "Visible to" to update All users (this is necessary so we can add the following instant condition.
Add "instant condition" Person lost deal count is more than 0
3. Send email
In this example, the automation sends an email to the sales rep but you can also have it send a Slack update, create another activity, update the person field or anything else that makes sense for your workflow.
4. Activating and testing
Lastly, simply activate the automation. To test if it works as expected, simply create a new activity with the chosen type manually.
π‘ If a single activity does not provide enough information we recommend setting up lead scoring in Outfunnel to combine data from multiple engagements and only trigger a notification once the lead score reaches X.
